Equipment
Equipment we used for our project were the following tools:
Camera
Phone Camera
Tripod
Green Screen
Objects
Software- Adobe; After Effects- Photoshop- Illustrator- Premier
-Using the Green Screen was hard in some areas, the background was perfect but it was hard placing the objects against it as we used two different green screen colours. We did manage to retake some images of our objects but only used one green screen this time but again it was still hard to not get the table in the shot as we placed the green screen against the wall. We did try placing the green screen on the floor and placing the objects on that way, but when taking the image, the reflection from the lighting was looking worse.
-Using the Tripod was a bit hard as we couldn’t get it to sit right to take the image, therefore we both decided just to take the image with my camera by holding it, this was for the green screen shots, we used the tripod to take images of Derry, it worked better for us then as the tripod was sitting right and we were able to get a lot of great images as the images were good quality as the tripod was steady.
-There was no problem with using the Camera as both me and Ryan have experience with photography and know all the settings on the camera.
-Objects we used were good, some of them didn't work as there was reflection coming of them. our best images were of the tetris blocks, even tho there were reflection hitting of them, they still worked.
-Software we used was all good, I believe me and Ryan had no problem with using Illustrator and Photoshop as we both have great experience using them. With After Effects we had some problems as we both didn't know what shortcuts to use but in the end there wasn't no major issue with this so it all went well. We both used Premier for the first time to put music in our video, we didn't have any problems with this as we both figured out how to use it and once we knew, everything was going into place. Although we did had an issue of rendering out the video on Premier, as things were disappearing but in the end it all came back up and was rendering out fine then.
-We used our Mobile Phone Camera to get panorama shots of Derry/ Armagh etc as my camera didn't have that setting. We felt a panorama shot would be best to use for our background image for our video. The problem with getting a panorama shot on our phones was hard as were trying to keep the image steady when taking the shot, we manage to get a lot of good images and the quality of the image came out great.
