Tests
Leading up to our final video it was important to carry out several tests to see what works and where. We haven't done this kind of thing before so it could be difficult. Every little thing we do is new to us.
Ryan: Here we tested the Removing the green from the red tetris block and a pound coin rotating. We wanted to use our own money and have it rotating similar to the game. Unfortunately we couldnt get the coin to rotate properly. When gathering the footage it kept swinging side to side. We tried creating a pendulum and spinning it and sticking it on top of a pencil but both were unsuccessful. As for the video I think we have the right idea for our objects but may need to look else where for the coin. The object should look nice with a background and other objects added.
Lavinia: We started to do some testing of our own objects, First video is of our coin spinning, it was very difficult to get the coin to rotate perfectly, we both felt this was the best try to get it perfect, I believe it looks nice beside the pink block as it is unique. We did try different techniques to rotate the coin, but I believe with using string was the best technique to use as we tried it with a pencil, and both me and Ryan couldn't get the rotation right.
Ryan: Similar to above only this time we kinda got a full rotation. This would work if the coin rotated - then reversed its rotation back and forth.
Lavinia: In this video, it shows the full rotation of the coin spin, it does look better than the first take, we will continue the rotation in our video if we decide to use our own coin. We may need to look for another coin spin.
Ryan: We decided to do the same test only use 3 coins. I like this and think it would be nice to use if we could get a full rotation but so far its looking good.
Lavinia: We decided to duplicate the coin to see what it looks like, to see if it makes a difference in look wise. I believe it looks better as theres more than one.
Ryan: This video may seem very random but it was very successful for us as the background is taken out properly with no green in sight. As said before we haven't done this before. I am pleased with it.
Lavinia: I really was pleased with this test video as the rotation of the banana was perfect, I believe this will look great in the video if we use it. It will be a nice item for Mario to collect in the video.

Ryan: Again this test does seem random but im happy that the images work and when it comes to placing them into our video shouldn't be any trouble. The light bulbs above were done using a piece of string and rotating them against the background. These could be used for other parts of our video. Alls that is missing from here is Mario and a background!
Lavinia: In this test video, we put in more of our objects in, to see how they go well together, We tested a spin of a light bulb, I believe this worked well as it also has a nice spin to it. We believe it will look better when we have a background and Mario in it but so far the tests are looking great as many of the objects are working very well.
Ryan: Here we decided to experiment with Lavinia's keyring. Although it isn't related to Super Mario I do live the effect it has. We could make it smaller and use it throughout the video where Mario needs to access areas of the level using the key.
Lavinia: I really wanted to experiment with my keyring as the banana and lightbulb turned out well, I thought the keyring will be a nice effect, the spin of the keyring, I believe worked great, it looks good on video.

Ryan: Using the previous tests we decided to combine everything into one scene. Although it is very random I am happy with how it looks. Each object was green screened out correctly and could be placed anywhere. As said before the coins rotation could be looped. instead of vanishing.
Lavinia: We decided to combined all the spinning objects to see what it all looks like together, it looks random but interesting. The only problem we had with was the coin spin.

Ryan: Lastly we thought it would be nice to add Mario into this scene of complete randomness.
Lavinia: Same test video as the last one, just added Mario to see what Mario looks like with realistic objects. I believe it looks really nice and will work well for our final video.
