So when we got into looking at our images the quality wasn't the best and fixing up images and retaking shots would take up more time. A new idea sprung up during this discussion. How about we do something similar only downsize it? We both agreed this would be better and less time consuming than the first idea. We thought the idea of Mario interacting with real life objects would be cool and fun to do.
In order to do this we needed to borrow 2 green screens from our lecturer. One for the background and the other for the ground. This is so we can basically place our objects anywhere. The objects we used were taken from home. Unfortunately we didn't have a tripod that was the right height of the table so some of our objects look slanted a tiny bit. It was up to steady hands to take the photographs. Yes we could edit them on Photoshop but taking good photographs would make things easier.
Ryan: I Like our selection of objects. Somethings like the cups and box of pens might not work as they are reflective and removing the green could take out some of the objects. Yes applying a mask would help but that would take up alot of our time. I felt that the bottom green screen was hard to keep flat and it interfered with the bottom of our objects in the photographs. We will need to gather footage from the internet to use as this may not be enough. We could always re-use objects tho...
Lavinia: Using two different green screens was a bit difficult as it was interfering with our images. Some images were a bit off because the reflection was hitting off some of the objects like the box of pens and tetris blocks but I think with using the mask tool it will look alright on after effects. If we don't have enough of our own images, we could try and google some that we know will work.
